Greetings! I am Joe Minato, resident of Portland, Oregon and a science and math teacher and tutor.

I am a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, majoring in physics, and studying lots of  math. I was awarded the Polariod Award for outstanding teaching at MIT. I also have a Master's (MTE) in science teaching. I am licensed to teach in the State of Oregon (multiple subjects in middle school; general science, physical science, and physics in high school). In 2019 I was finalist for the OnPoint Credit Union Teacher of the Year Award.

I recently won an Outstanding Science Teaching award from the Oregon Science Teachers Association.

I am involved in a number of educational projects, nonprofit ventures, and for-profit businesses. This page acts as a directory to these projects.

You can read an interview with me about my teaching background and philosophies here.
